Rails Site Redesign¶

This has arisen out of a conversation over irc.

I, for one, believe that through a redesign of the Ruby on rails site we can both reduce the amount of easy questions coming over irc that have been answered a million times, and organise it better that it is more aimed at helping the community than advertising RoR.

This means a larger emphasis on the community written documentation, and only after this an emphasis on trying to get to the irc channels or the mailing list. This will become more and more important as rails gets more and more popular as eventually we won't be able to answer everyone on irc.

This is not yet endorsed at all by the Rails core team, but after we get a fully working staging site, i believe we can convince them that it is a viable solution to the current issues we have with it.
